APLA

The APLA of WA has served its members since 1904 and has been an important part of the state's mining industry. It continues to provide strong representation to governments and mining industry associations in all matters that affect prospectors.
It has about 450 members who are kept informed of the association's activities via its excellent quarterly publication "The Datum Post", which is free of charge.
The journal reports APLA activities and carries industry updates and information articles of interest to prospectors, a free classification section and much more.
Members meet regularly to discuss prospecting and mining matters and to keep up to date with the latest information.

Melbourne
Victoria 3001

The Prospectors and Miners Association of Victoria (PMAV) was established in 1980 to combat the threat of large areas of public land being closed off to prospectors and smaller scale miners.

The primary aims of the Association are in part:

(b) To make submissions to the Crown, Parliament, Members of Parliament, Statutory bodies, Local Government and the like, on matters affecting fossicking, prospecting, mining, and treatment.

(c) To assist individual members of the Association to take advantage of the heritage, rights and privileges conferred by the Miner's Right, and generally to support and advise members.
